The AIE Regulations - Access to Information on the Environment

  • 5 CPD Hours Apex Building, Blackthorn Road Sandyford Business District D18 (map)

Key Legalities to be Aware of – Exemptions – Appeals - Decisions

The AIE Regulations allow access to environmental information produced or received by a public authority. These Regulations also outline the manner in which requests for information may be submitted to public authorities, as well as the manner in which public authorities are required to deal with requests.

The AIE Regulations also provide for a formal appeals procedure known as an internal review in the event that a person is unhappy with the decision about their request. If an applicant is still unhappy after an internal review they may apply to the Office of the Commissioner for Environmental Information (OCEI) or an independent decision on the matter.

This one-day CPD training course will focus on the requirements for processing a request. It will examine the application of certain exemptions, the appeals process, procedural issues, key OCEI decisions and more. Delegates will leave the course with a much more advanced understanding of the AIE Regulations.

All attendees will take home a full informative course pack to refer back to, as well as CPD certification and a CMG Masterclass certificate.
